Regarding sustainability and environmental goals Silafrica achieved so far:
- Replacing hot foil prints by in mould labels to reduce waste and improve recyclability
- Introduce durable stackable crates for agriculture storage and transportation, all made from 100% recycled plastic sourced from single use PP packaging
- Transition of beverage & brewery crates from printed to embossed improving their crates recyclability by 25%.
Silafrica supplies its customers in the CPG (consumer packaged goods) space with a substantial volume of secondary packaging to improve their supply chain efficiency. Their expectation from a collaboration with the Circular Plastics Alliance is to develop more secondary packaging solutions that are 100% recyclable and returnable, as well as continue to improve supply chain efficiency for their customers.
Silafrica expects to benefit from the solutions offered by Circular Plastics Alliance to develop secondary packaging solutions & access to markets where they can supply such solutions, as well as learn from other Circular Plastics Alliance members to further the shift to a circular economy in their region as well as throughout their customer base.
By adding Silafrica to the Circular Plastics Alliance, we can expand the network in Eastern and Central Africa region. With their knowledge of plastic packaging and its regional function, Silafrica is a unique and valuable addition to our Alliance.
