SCG Chemicals (SCGC), a leading player in the ASEAN chemical sector, has officially joined the Circular Plastics Alliance. With this new collaboration, both parties strengthen their joint commitment to a more sustainable future.

Known for its active dedication to sustainability and environmental objectives, SCGC is committed to the development of circular plastics and innovative technologies for various sectors such as infrastructure, packaging, mobility, and energy. Within their vision of sustainability, the company has set ambitious targets. By 2030, SCGC aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% compared to 2020 and strives for carbon neutrality by 2050.

Moreover, SCGC is determined to send zero waste to landfills by 2025 and aims for a 5% reduction in water consumption. They are also committed to the sale of their SCGC Green Polymer products, which have already been adopted by renowned companies such as Unilever, Shell, Colgate, and Lion.

Within the Alliance, SCGC will share its expertise and support other members with facilities, SCGC Green Polymer solutions, and conventional virgin polymers. This initiative plays a key role in promoting sustainable business opportunities and actively reducing the CO2 footprint, including the application of innovative technologies such as CO2 capture.

The handing over of the membership tombstone to SCGC was marked by a ceremony in which Henk Kras, a co-shareholder of Kras Recycling Group, handed over the tombstone to representatives of SCGC: Tanawong Areeratchakul, Mr. Suracha Udomsak, and Pongsak Pianpanawate.

With this new collaboration between SCGC and the Circular Plastics Alliance, the path is paved for further innovations and collaborations.
